In company of René Magritte : Belgian friendships

In company of René Magritte: Belgian friendships is a group exhibition about Magritte’s relationships, whether loyal, short-lived or conflictual, both within the Surrealist circle and beyond.

You’ll meet the regulars at Magritte’s weekly meetings at 135 Esseghemstreet, his companions at the Academiy of Brussels, and many more.

It’s a journey back to the Belgian art scene of the last century, where abstract art and surrealism met, and where the private and the public intertwined to write history as we know it.
